Rohan Bopanna is an Indian professional tennis player who is best known for his exploits in the doubles format of the sport. As of March 2022, in the doubles format, he had amassed a 420–321 win-loss record (56.7%) in ATP-level tournaments and had won 21 ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) doubles titles in 50 final appearances. He had achieved his peak ranking of 3 in July 2013 in the official ATP doubles rankings. In Grand Slam events, in the doubles format, he has reached the quarter-final of the French Open (2011, 2016, 2018, 2021), the semi-final of Wimbledon (2013, 2015), and the final of the US Open (2010). In Grand Slam events, in the mixed doubles format, he had won the French Open in 2017. He had also reached the quarter-final of Wimbledon (2013, 2017), the semi-final of the US Open (2015), and the final of the Australian Open (2018). He had also made it to the final match of the year-ending ATP World Tour Finals twice (2012, 2015) but had lost on both occasions.

  • He used to play both hockey and soccer in his childhood but he had started shifting his focus to tennis when he was 11 years old because his father had wanted him to pursue an individual sport.
  • At the 2003 Hyderabad Afro-Asian Games, he had won the ‘Gold’ medal in the men’s doubles as well as the team event.
  • In 2010, he had won the deciding match of India’s Davis Cup clash against Brazil to clinch the tie 3–2 and steer India back to the World Group of the tournament for the first time since 1998.
